Expansion Info Leaked
Submitted by: Uriel on 7/28/2006 12:57:16 PM
We've been pretty sure for a while now (since a post here in April) that Mythic was going to add a single new class and race to DAoC, shared across the realms. Well, now we know what they are: the Minotaur and Mauler.

Mythic apparently accidentally put some expansion info into the 1.85 patch on Pendragon (which presumably means testing will begin soon or has already started for Team Leads) - the Minotaur was listed as a race in the configuration settings for display (where you can choose what version of graphics you want to use for each player race), and the Mauler was revealed as the class when a Hunter traded in their champion weapon and was given options for a staff weapon, or a left- or right-hand Fist Wrap.

The picture showing the Minotaur race can be found here, and the Mauler Champion Weapon options here.

The pictures don't show us what the Minotaur looks like (though hopefully everyone has a general idea), but the one of the Champion Weapon tells us about the Mauler - a melee class that can use its bare fists or a staff weapon. The weapon bonuses didn't include any casting stat or skill, so it's probably a pure melee class. And my guess would be that it's limited to the Minotaur race.

1.85A notes

And so it begins.
From the Herald:

  • Style changes for dual wielders
  • Forceful Zephyr getting a total rework
  • 25% more RP earned in battlegrounds
  • Leirvik being tweaked some more
  • Cathal Valley gets a CK... with a twist!
Not much indication of what classes will be looked at this cycle, or what changes they're planning for crafters, or what's in the works for the third ML line...
... but again, this is only letter A!

Permalinks
Submitted by: Uriel on 7/19/2006 7:55:09 PM
I recently visited a site that didn't have a permanent link for news items and found that I couldn't find a good way to link to a particular story... and then came here only to see the same problem. So now, when you're on the home page or the news archives, you can click on a story's title to reach the permanent page for that story. Happy linking! ;P

Style Special Effects
Submitted by: Uriel on 7/11/2006 7:20:25 PM
It's been a long time coming - the style page now features a link over a style's special effect that, when hovered over, will bring up a box showing the details of that special effect (the duration of a stun, for example).
