First up this week is a new Theurgist Guide by Cep, and a new style of guide from Phric - Phric's Hunter Tricks & Tips, not a traditional guide, Phric explores the advanced tactics of the Hunter - a good read. Also, over at Camelot Seer, they've got *five* new tables that explore the new patch 1.61 stuff, the level caps, realm level caps, and a new section on how characters progress through attributes during their life. Yes. We like Camelot Seer. Lastly, thanks to all who sent the Sorceror info - last week I had posted about updating the last two Sorceror charm spells, well, in actuality, a Sorceror can now charm anything at any level - and I'm told the list of everything is Humanoid, Insect, Animal, Magical, Undead, Giant, Demon, Plant, Elemental, and the Taco Bell Chihuahua. Spell lists are updated with said info.

I was gonna name today's news "Some Savage Lovin'", but that just sounded kinda wierd... Anyhow, lotsa small stuff today: I fixed the Savage page - the Savage's house is Kelgor, not Rakor (Rakor was the beta name). I also added the Savage to the Midgard Class/Spell Listing, though you could always get to Savagery from the link on the Savage page. The last change for the Savage is that the Savage spells Inc. Chance to Parry, Inc. Chance to Evade, and Instant Endurance Heal all have values now. I updated the last two Sorc. charm spells to read "Can Charm Anything", which I believe they added in a recent patch (used to be they could charm Humanoid, Animal, Insect and Magical... so I guess this just adds Undead?). Lovely Pharoah from Guardians of Valor graces us again, with an update to her Crafting For Profit guide; the updated guide features an excel spreadsheet, a FAQ, and crafting templates for *all* the mundane skills!

OK so pull up a seat if you haven't already =) First, I'd like to talk about the new NavBar. I did some extensive testing, and the nav bar is just not compatible with Netscape 6 or Opera 6. Netscape 7 and Opera 7 work fine, however, as do Netscape 4.7 (wierd that 4.7 works, but 6 doesn't), IE4+, and Mozilla 1.1+. So... If you're using one of those two browsers, chances are they're prolly acting evil on other sites, so an upgrade would be good anyhow. A note for Opera users: Have Opera identify as Opera for best results. (File -> Quick Preferences -> Identify as Opera). A note to all other users: If you're having problems, please clear your cache and cookies, and set your updating to every time. In Internet Explorer, you do this via: Tools -> Internet Options -> Delete Files & Delete Cookies, Then click Settings, and set the Radio button to the top setting (Every Visit to the Page). Thanks to everyone who sent in the tips and suggestions for various browsers!
Next, I wanna talk spells. Someone, somewhere, said my spells pages weren't as good as the Herald's. At first, I was appalled, then upset, and then inspired. I've spent approximately 20 hours the past two days making sure my spells pages kick the living crap out of Mythic's. Here are the changes, and the reason why it was changed/broken in the first place. (BTW now is a good time to print a new copy, every spell page had at least one change).
Valewalker absorb proc buffs now have values (not in spells-si.xml).
Spiritmaster PBAOE Mez no longer lists damage (though it does in spells-si.xml).
Animist DPS Debuff and Abs Buff Turrets list real values now (all values were "39" in spells-si.xml).
Insta-Heals no longer list negative amounts (they're negative in spells-si.xml for some reason).
Cleric DPS buff has real values now (no values in spells-si.xml).
The Friar Regen that just *isn't* in spells-si.xml is now listed.
Disease spells now list their Str and Movement debuff values (not in spells-si.xml).
All the new Ablative Absorb Buffs now have HP values with thme (not in spells-si.xml).
The Paladin heal chant is fixed (was my fault that it was broken).
All Regen/DoTs have "tick" values associated with them (not in spells-si.xml or the spell library).
The Reaver's Lifedrain Proc now lists return values (not in spells-si.xml).
Most spell names are now more indicative of what they really are (PB, Insta, etc. - new feature.)
The Ranger's run speed buff no longer lists damage (it does for some reason in spells-si.xml ... that's just bad, Mythic)
I fixed the Bonedancer's Focus Snare (my fault... didn't know focus snares existed hehe).
The Savage's DPS buff now lists values (not in spells-si.xml).
I fixed the Animist's Bladeturn formatting (my fault... NULL is never NULL when you want it to be.)
All Bonedancer pets have "Pet Properties" (not in spells-si.xml).
Animist Con Debuffs now have a power cost (they're listed as 0 for some in both spells-si.xml and the library).
So, that's it for the sweeping spells changes. I'm dissappointed in Mythic that there's so much wrong with spells-si.xml, but I did find something that was cool - they finally put the full values for damage spells in the XML, instead of rounding them all (which really sucked for +DPS spells). For that, I commend you. For the rest of the problems (how in the fark can a run speed buff have a damage associated with it?!?!) I say meh. So, last word on the spells - they should have everything the library has, plus more... however, as with every piece of this site, they are always better when I get feedback on them, so if you see something wrong, or missing, or that you just want added, please let me know.

Yeah, the site's been looking kinda funky the past 12 hours or so, but I finally finished implementing a new java tree for the nav bar, so I'm done messing with stuff now =) With this one, when you expand the tree, the page expands with it. Also, it's supposed to save it's state in cookies, so that it stays expanded when you move between pages yet, but it doesn't appear to be doing that (at least for me, anyhow). It also doesn't have all the minor inconsistencies of the other menu, not that anyone but me cares, but I thought I'd let ya'll know why stuff was looking strange for a while =)
Edit - the cookies do work =) However, I had my privacy policy set too high. Your Privacy Policy (Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy) must be set to low, OR you can just add Classes of Camelot to your always accepted list, and then the privacy settings don't matter. (Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy -> Edit, then type in http://www.classesofcamelot.com, and click allow). The cookie only saves the tree information, and I'll never read it... in fact, since the site is in pure-html, I *can't* read it =)

Well, I spent some hours this evening adding to my spell patch file. It's quite sad, Mythic, that my spell patch file is now 48k, because your spells-si.xml is so fubar'ed. What's even worse is that your own Spell Library and spells-si.xml don't even match... Anyhow, now that that's off my chest - here's what I fixed: The Reaver PBAOE Debuffs, and the Necro AF Debuffs, Power Tap, Power Transfer, and Regen all have real values now. If you notice any other errors, please let me know! Thanks to those who pointed out the errors, and gave me the info to fix them. You know me... have XML, will patch. Something else disturbing I heard over the weekend - the Nightshade's primary casting stat is STR. Funny, eh? Who dropped the ball on that one? =)
Anyhow, as far as other updates go - Uriel updated his Reaver Guide, and Brian Ayres created some really great weapon style flowcharts. They're printable, well designed, and you can see them here. That's it, basically, for this week. The slow news trend continues...

So there's only two things I can deem newsworthy this week. First off, there's a new German Classes of Camelot Mirror at: http://www.8ung.at/umbrion. The owner, Umbrion, also has a mirror for Kirstena's Atlas pages, who has some really great maps, even though she doesn't update them anymore. However, the second piece of news is about someone who is actively updating their atlas =) I got this e-mail in my box, and I'm thinking... oh great... more maps. Another kid sat down with some crayons and drew a little diagram in the rough resemblance of a map... which is what I normally get linked to. Problem is, when I went to the URL (and I was skeptical... the guy's name was Ducky), it turned out that this was the coolest thing I've seen in a long while. Ducky's Dynamic Atlas is definately worthy of a CoC Stamp of Approval - it gets 4.5/5 woot stars. It lost half a woot star for crashing my browser when I tried to leave... but, it was worth it. Definately a great tool. And the Diablo font on a DAoC Map is priceless =)
