While updating the class guides for the new format, I also looked at each to see how relevant it was to today's game, since most were written 2-3 years ago. About 20 guides no longer made the cut.
As the years go by, fewer people are willing to spend a lot of time writing or maintaining a guide. That makes some sense - why bother, when most people playing have been around long enough
that they don't need a guide anymore? Guides are still important for the new player, however. So it's time for something completely different. If no individual can do this anymore, perhaps a group can - the wiki principle applied to guides.
I'd like to find about half a dozen people from each class willing to write part of a guide, hopefully to be replaced as they leave the game or decide not to maintain their part of the guide any longer. Yes, I realize that if I actually find that many people it'll be around 250, and that this could drive me insane.
The people I'm looking for:
- Know their class. This doesn't mean you have to be RR10 or ML10 or have 300 days /played, it just means you understand your role in the game.
- Are willing to put their knowledge to use to help others. A good sign of being a good person for this task is if you spend time on class message boards answering questions or just taking part in discussions.
- Are literate. I can proofread for typos and such, but if you're sending in things in doodspeak, my instinct is to think you're not worth listening to.
The idea is that you can do however much you like - if you just want to write a short section on realm abilities, that's fine, or you could go ahead and write a complete guide. Your part could take as little as an hour with rare updates.
If you think you'd like to do this, send me an email (uriel@classesofcamelot.com), and I'll try to outline the process that'll be involved, and work with you to figure out how much and what you want to do. And tell any friends you think might be interested, since this isn't something that'll work without a lot of volunteers.

After about five years, Classes of Camelot is retiring the black and blue theme. It served well, but it's past time for a change. The new CoC is lighter, less cluttered, and should be somewhat faster.
Not all of the pages have been switched over yet, but most have; the remainder will be soon. I hope everyone likes the new (OK, no, it's not really new - I used it when creating the DR pages, and this layout has in fact been waiting to be implemented for quite some time now) look.

Probably not, particularly for those who already moved to the classic servers, but it's a good one. 1.81b contains a lot of ToA changes that should make the expansion easier and faster both. There are also a few class changes and RP caps for the battlegrounds.
